Runs beginners' courses with Robin & Jeff

With experience in all 3 weapons - as BB&&O County and Southern Region Champion at Arms every year over an entire decade - Alain is a BFA Regional (Level 4) coach in épée and County (Level 3) coach in foil.

Since September 2004, Al has been running our hugely popular Beginner Courses with the help of Robin and Jeff, and also has experience teaching at his old university as well as running fencing lessons for several school holiday camps and Scout and Brownie groups across the region.

As an ex-international competitor, Alain's style of coaching focuses on getting the basics right, with practical advice and exercises helping students to improve their competitive edge. Al's "old school" warm-ups will also push you to the max!
